Amazon has long supported values counter to the Christian Faith by selling pornography and other publications promoting godless lifestyles. Amazon recently allowed this book on their site: "The Pedophile's Guide to Love and Pleasure: A Child-Lover's Code of Conduct" by Phillip Greaves. For 3 days Amazon stalled while their customers and CNN called for it to be taken down. As Christians, should the lowest price be the most important factor in our buying decisions?
This unbelievable! After more than 2000 of Amazon's customers posted comments requesting this disgusting book be removed from their site, Amazon did nothing. Anderson Cooper spent time over 3 nights of his program asking for a response from the company and/or that the book be taken down. Amazon stalled for 3 days and then gave this response as quoted in the CNN article (read the whole article via the link below):
"Let me assure you that Amazon.com does not support or promote hatred or criminal acts; we do support the right of every individual to make their own purchasing decisions."
"Amazon.com believes it is censorship not to sell certain titles because we believe their message is objectionable."
More than 60% of Christian books sold online go through Amazon. Why are Christians buying so much product from these people?
See the attached link. CNN's Anderson Cooper stated (incorrectly), in a recent CNN segment on Amazon's carrying a book promoting pedophilia, that Amazon does not carry pornography on their site. If that's Amazon's policy, why is the product in this link, among many, many others, carried on their site?
(Just clicking the link will not expose you to the book's content.)
